She feared deep, still waters. She associated it with monsters, ready to devour her human flesh any minute she comes close to it. But that one day was different. She heard the waters screaming her name, the stillness lured her, the immensity drew her near. She needed to feel the cold water, she wanted it to seep through her pores.
The lower she sunk, the faster the memories came flooding back. It was like travelling back in time. It was as if she could taste the bitter past as they stumbled back and forth. The dying emotions were starting to fade away and that’s when she stopped breathing.
And slowly, she sunk to the bottom.
