Happy 24th Birthday Kimmy!

Today is my sister’s 24th birthday and I’d like to dedicate this post to her.

We are each other’s business; we are each other’s magnitude and bond.

Growing up with three younger siblings is not easy. The silent expectation that you’re supposed to leave good marks so your siblings could follow your footsteps can be pretty tough. Up until now, I’m not sure if I have been a good role model to them but who cares, I know in my bones that I have been a good sister and I will always be — even if I can be a pain in the ass sometimes. But that’s normal I guess.

My sister, Kimmy and I grew up together, considering our one and a half year age gap. We sometimes clash because of our differences but I’m glad that we have managed to keep our bond intact. We view things in different perspectives, this often leads to arguments and petty fights but at the end of the day, we’re still sisters.

Sisters function as safety nets in a chaotic world simply by being there for each other.

We have one thing in common though, we both love to read, although we lean towards different genres. She’s more into YA novels while I prefer the good old classics and I would take a Plath or Neruda book any minute while she would rather read Harry Potter and Twilight but we both love Summer Sisters and White Oleander, and any Nora Roberts or Jude Deveraux books.

My sister is amazing and she’s fun to be with. I think her profession suits her character. She’s compassionate and caring. She’s very generous and thoughtful too. She can be stubborn though but all in all, she’s a strong woman with a kind heart. She makes a pretty damn good nurse.

She is your mirror, shining back at you with a world of possibilities. She is your witness, who sees you at your worst and best, and loves you anyway. She is your partner in crime, your midnight companion, someone who knows when you are smiling, even in the dark. She is your teacher, your defense attorney, your personal press agent, even your shrink. Some days, she’s the reason you wish you were an only child.

My wish for her birthday is good health, happiness and success. I pray to God to keep her safe always, and give her the job she wants for her to be happy. (and rich! lol)

Happy Birthday Bebe Lurve! I love you to bits and pieces.

        1. I love Spanish. I’m dying, and I mean really dying to learn that language. For the love of Pablo Neruda. lol. And I love women who speak Spanish, it’s really sexy! Hah, now I know who to ask for some spanish phrases. HAHAH 🙂 Be a darling and teach me?

      1. I can’t reply to your last response. Mine limits itself too. I haven’t quite figured out how to leave it open for more replies.
Anywho- Sure – word for today is ¡Hijole! I (sounds like the English letter E)-ho-le (soft e)
I use this a lot. It’s like saying: geez, goodness, ay ay ay, whoops!
It’s all in how you say it.
