A Thousand Smithereens

He found her lingering in a bleak alley, clasping tightly what’s left of her fragile heart. He gathered the fragments and glued them together bit by bit. He held her for a while, cradled her, made her believe that he was the one for her. Little did she know just how cunning he can be. Deception was well buried in his smiles. He disguised his trickery perfectly. He crafted his devious schemes and made it through her walls.

He glued back the pieces of her heart only to smash it into a thousand smithereens.
